I started competing in VEX in middle school because I wanted to know how the robots on the field actually worked. Six seasons later the question hasn’t changed, only the scale has.
My first robot was a drivetrain and a claw. My most recent one carries a compliant polycarbonate lift, six 11W motors geared to 450 rpm, and an odometry stack that tracks its position on the field continuously.

Most of what I do is not purely mechanical, but rather sits where the hardware meets the software that controls it. A subsystem starts as geometry in CAD, gets FEA run on whatever takes load, comes off a laser cutter, and then needs control code that keeps it behaving under a driver who isn’t being careful. Those are usually two different jobs. Doing both is the part I like, because a mechanism and its controller fail in ways that only make sense if you understand the other half.

I founded Integer Robotics Education in 2023 to teach robotics, drones, and coding to K-12 students around Santa Ana, and we’ve reached roughly 500 of them so far. I started it because the program that got me into robotics wasn’t available to most of the kids I grew up around. Running it has taught me more about explaining a system clearly than any class has.
I also founded 2147Z, a private competition team that became the most decorated in our region in 2025.
